About the team
We are looking for our next colleague to our team with responsibility for Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) with placement at our operational offices in Västernorrland, more specifically in the area around Härnösand and Örnsköldsvik. In this role you will be part of an international HSE team delivering industry-leading advice and support to our growing onshore renewable energy business (wind, solar, storage). Your main focus will be to act as an HSE specialist who must ensure that the business meets both legal requirements and internal routines within health and safety and the environmental areas, as well as monitor that applicable laws, regulations, routines and instructions are known and that they are followed in the organization. You will work closely with our operational teams in Project Development, Construction, and Operations regarding HSE issues. Duties include conducting site visits and inspections, supporting construction and maintenance activities, developing HSE processes and documents, and conducting training and coaching. Here are some of the areas you will work on:- Managing, coordinating, advising and providing support to our business on health, safety and environmental issues and acting as a liaison with authorities.
- Proactively support and advise both staff and management in meeting and fulfilling HSE responsibilities and developing and promoting an excellent HSE culture.
- Support effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Swedish HSE Management System.
- Ensure that statutory HSE requirements are identified, complied with and evaluated regularly.
- Independently conduct root cause analysis, in consultation/cooperation with the respective responsible authority.
- Provide or coordinate safety-related training and courses for relevant staff on health, safety or environmental issues.
- Conduct HSE inspections and evaluations accordance to with Swedish legislation
- Conduct and support risk assessment and implement preventive measures.
- As the group language is English, you need to feel comfortable communicating and writing in English.
About you
Does this sound like a challenge for you? To be a successful candidate for this role we expect you to have:
- proven experience or education in occupational health and safety, preferably in the renewable energy, energy or construction industry. Suitable candidates with transferable skills from other industries will be considered.
- background in operations support or construction, but suitable candidates with transferable skills and experience will be considered.
- Experience of certification in environmental or occupational health and safety management preferably adapted to ISO 14001, 45001 or similar.
- Good knowledge and experience of Swedish HSE legislation is a requirement.
- Swedish driving license for car is necessary
- An openness to some travel, regularly between our site offices in Viksjö and Trehörningsjö but also to other regional offices and sites in Sweden and occasionally to other European offices.
- Good health, must complete a medical fitness test for work at high altitude and Global Wind Organization (GWO) certification.
- Used to hold dialogues and instruct other people, have good communication skills and good decision-making skills.
